Get the book of Michael Spivak. It is a bit advanced, but not impossible. It does not require any prerequisites, although, it would be useful to have some knowledge, say of Pre-calculus, and High School Algebra. In this book you can also find a great collection of . algebra and calculus, we will treat numerical calculus, statistics and function approximation, which are the most important mathematics basic topics for engineers. We also provide an introduction to Computer Algebra. Mathematica, Matlab and Octave are powerful tools for the Exercises. Event though we favour the open source tool Octave.

    * This book is an expanded version of Calculus by the same authors, with an entire chapter devoted to differential equations, additional sections on other topics, and additional exercises in most sections. See the &es&rdquo. section for more details. Sample questions asked in the 1st edition of Calculus for Scientists and Engineers. Focusing on the "why's" of mathematics rather than the "how's," the unique approach of this text will appeal to a wide range of readers, from those taking a first course in calculus to those seeking deeper insights or needing a transition from calculus to analysis. The author takes care to supply strong motivations for abstract concepts, thereby helping beginners overcome the intimidation 3/5(2).

Regular calculus is taken usually by people in social sciences, arts or humanities. Engineering calculus is much more in dept. It's much more "complicated" and is truly for the people who are good in math (I mean really good). This book presents the basic concepts of calculus and its relevance to real-world problems, covering the standard topics in their conventional order. By focusing on applications, it allows readers to view mathematics in a practical and relevant setting.
